Sacramento State, a large public state comprehensive university, retained Next Generation to conduct a national search for an Associate Chief Information Officer (Deputy CIO). The university needed an executive search strategy to identify and implement university-wide data and technology solutions to support student success and improve business processes and evidence-based decision-making. Critical skills for this position emphasized a collaborative spirit, strong customer service orientation, excellent communication and problem solving skills, experience leading continuous IT process improvement initiatives, and a keen understanding of strategic higher education issues. Three years later Next Generation facilitated the executive search for a university CIO.
