Incoming university and IT leadership commissioned the development of UD’s first IT strategy plan in many years. The planning process created a university-wide conversation about technology strategy to enable university objectives to enhance research, expand online programs, and improve the student experience. Next Generation Partners, Mary Beth Baker and Phil Goldstein, formed working groups to brainstorm short- and long-term strategic initiatives around these goals as well as on learning space design, data analytics, and organizational effectiveness. The technology strategy resulted in an IT plan which has already spurred a university-wide approach to constituent relationship management, enhanced research computing capabilities, and rebalanced responsibilities across UD’s federated IT groups.
