With the increasing importance of technology to all aspects of the university mission, Wake Forest retained Phil Goldstein and Mary Beth Baker, Next Generation Partners, to develop an institutional technology strategy. Faculty, staff, and students envisioned future uses of technology. The consultant team took this input and defined initiatives to improve learning spaces, move processes from paper to digital, and upgrade the capacity to use data for decision making. The engagement included the selection and implementation planning for a cloud-based finance and human resources system and new mobile capabilities to serve students. Recommendations of a new governance model, revised IT organizational structure, and redeployment of financial and staff resources are helping Wake implement the plan and realize projected outcomes.
